XML Formatter

About

The XML Formatter helps your tame your unformatted XML data by indenting it properly and optionally highlight its syntax. It does all of these inside your browser, without submitting your data to our server and therefore protects your data privacy.

What is XML?

XML (Extensible Markup Language) is a markup language that defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The W3C's XML 1.0 Specification and several other related specifications define XML (see below).

XML is often used as a document format. For example, one of the HTML standards (XHTML) is an application of the XML language. Partly due to its well defined behavior (standardized by a committee), XML is also used with some success as a data transfer format. Recently, however, more developers have chosen a lighter data format JSON for their communication protocol.
